ஆபிரகாமின் சந்ததி!

தெரிந்துகொள்ளப்பட்ட சந்ததியிலே பிறந்து, தேவனால் பெயர் சொல்லி அழைக்கப்பட்டவர்தான் ஆபிரகாம்.  தேவன் அவரை அழைத்தபொழுது அவருக்குப் பிள்ளைகள் இல்லை. ஆனால் அவரிடத்தில் பக்தி இருந்தது.

"கர்த்தர் ஆபிரகாமை நோக்கி: நீ உன் தேசத்தையும், உன் இனத்தையும், உன் தகப்பனுடைய வீட்டையும் விட்டுப் புறப்பட்டு, நான் உனக்குக் காண்பிக்கும் தேசத்துக்குப் போ. 

நான் உன்னைப் பெரிய ஜாதியாக்கி, உன்னை ஆசீர்வதித்து, உன் பேரைப் பெருமைப்படுத்துவேன்; நீ ஆசீர்வாதமாய் இருப்பாய்.

உன்னை ஆசீர்வதிக்கிறவர்களை ஆசீர்வதிப்பேன், உன்னைச் சபிக்கிறவனைச் சபிப்பேன்; பூமியிலுள்ள வம்சங்களெல்லாம் உனக்குள் ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்படும் என்றார்." (ஆதியாகமம் 12: 1-3)

ஆபிரகாமைத் தேவன் அழைத்த பொழுது, அவர் கல்தேயருடைய தேசத்திலுள்ள ஒரு ஊரிலே வசித்து வந்தார். தேவன் அவரை அங்கிருந்து அழைத்துத் தான் காண்பிக்கும் தேசத்துக்குப் போகும்படிக் கூறினார். உடனே ஆபிரகாம் தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்படிந்தார். அதாவது தான் தேவன்மேல் வைத்திருந்த விசுவாசத்தைத் தன் கிரியையில் (செயலில்) காண்பித்தார். அதினால் அவர் தேவனுக்கு முன்பாக நீதிமானாகக் காணப்பட்டார். மேலும், அவர், தன்னைப்போல் தேவனை விசுவாசிக்கும் அனைவருக்கும் தகப்பனாகவும் மாறினார். 

தேவன் ஆபிரகாமை அழைத்தபொழுது, அவருக்கு 75 வயதாயிருந்தது. ஆபிரகாம் தேவன் சொன்ன வார்த்தைகளை நம்பினார், விசுவாசித்தார். தன்னுடைய வயதையோ, தான் குழந்தையற்றவனாய் இருக்கிற நிலையையோ அவர் பார்க்கவில்லை.  தன்னை அழைத்த தேவனால் எல்லாம் கூடும் என்று விசுவாசித்தார்.

தேவன் அந்த விசுவாசத்தைச் சோதித்துப் பார்த்தார். 25 ஆண்டுகள் கடந்துபோனது. என்றாலும், ஆபிரகாம்- சாராள் தம்பதியினருக்குக் குழந்தை பிறக்கவில்லை. இந்த சூழ்நிலையிலும், ஆபிரகாம் தன்னுடைய விசுவாசத்தை விட்டுவிடவில்லை. அதிலே பலப்பட்டார்.

ஈசாக்கும், இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவும்!

ஆபிரகாம் 100 வயதானபோது, தேவன் அவருக்கு வாக்குப்பண்ணினபடியே ஒரு குமாரனைக் கொடுத்தார். அவனுக்கு 'ஈசாக்கு' என்று பெயரிடப்பட்டது. ஈசாக்கு என்றால் 'நகைப்பு' என்பது பொருள். ஆபிரகாம்-சாராள் என்கிற தாத்தாவுக்கும், பாட்டிக்கும் குழந்தையாக ஈசாக்கு பிறந்திருந்ததால் அது ஜனங்களுக்கு நகைப்பாயிருந்தது.

ஈசாக்கு தன் பெயருக்கேற்ப தன் பெற்றோருக்கும், உற்றாருக்கும் சந்தோஷத்தைக் கொடுக்கிறவராயிருந்தார். ஆம், நம் தேவன் வாக்குப்பண்ணுகிறவர் மட்டுமல்ல, தான் சொன்னதைச் செய்ய வல்லவரும், உண்மையுள்ளவருமாய் இருக்கிறார்.

ஆபிரகாமைத் தேவன் சகலவிதத்திலும் ஆசீர்வதித்திருந்தார். அவர் ஒரு சீமானாயிருந்தார். அவருக்கு அநேக ஆடு, மாடுகளும், வெள்ளியும், பொன்னும் இருந்தது. அவருடைய வீட்டில் பிறந்த வேலைக்காரர்கள் மாத்திரம் 300க்கும் அதிகமானவர்கள். 

இந்த ஆபிரகாமுடைய சந்ததியில்தான் அநேக பக்திமான்களும், நீதிமான்களும் தோன்றினார்கள்; தலை சிறந்த ஞானிகளும், விஞ்ஞானிகளும் தோன்றினார்கள்; பெரிய பெரிய இராஜாக்கள் தோன்றினார்கள்.  அதுமாத்திரமல்ல, இவருடைய சந்ததியில்தான் தேவாதி தேவன் தாமே மனுஉருக்கொண்டு 'இயேசு' என்ற பெயரில் தோன்றினார். அவரே உலகச் சரித்திரத்தை இரண்டாகப் (கி.மு.-கி.பி.) பிரித்தவர். முழு மனுவர்க்கத்திற்கும் பாவமன்னிப்பாகிய மீட்பை உண்டுபண்ணினவர். இந்த முழு உலகத்திற்கும் ஆசீர்வாதத்தைக் கொண்டு வந்தவர்.

பக்தி வாழ்க்கைக்கு வழி - இயேசு!

"... இரத்தஞ் சிந்துதல் இல்லாமல் மன்னிப்பு உண்டாகாது" (எபிரெயர் 9:22) என்று வேதத்தில் எழுதியிருக்கிறது. ஜலப்பிரளயத்திற்குப் பின், இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் நாட்கள் வரையிலும் பலிகள் செலுத்தப்பட்டு வந்தன. அதாவது, இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தத்திற்கு அடையாளமாக (நிழலாக) ஆடுமாடுகளின் இரத்தம் சிந்தப்பட்டது. 

ஆனால், சுமார் 2000-ம் ஆண்டுகளுக்கு முன்பு இயேசு கிறிஸ்து மனிதனாக அவதரித்து, மூன்றரை ஆண்டுகள் தன்னைத் தேடிவந்த மக்களுக்கு அநேக நன்மைகளைச் செய்து, சிலுவை மரத்தில் நமக்காகப் பலியாகித் தன் சொந்த இரத்தத்தைச் சிந்தினார்.

"...இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவின் இரத்தம் சகல பாவங்களையும் நீக்கி நம்மைச் சுத்திகரிக்கும்" (1 யோவான் 1:7) என்று வேதம் சொல்லுகிறது.  இயேசு கிறிஸ்து பாவமே செய்யாத பரிசுத்த தேவன். ஆகவே, அவருடைய இரத்தம் பாவமில்லாத பரிசுத்த இரத்தம். நமக்காகச் சிந்தப்பட்ட அவருடைய இரத்தத்தில்தான் பாவமன்னிப்பாகிய மீட்பு நமக்கு உண்டாயிருக்கிறது. 

நாம் செய்த பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்பட்டால் மட்டுமே, நாம் சொர்க்கம் என்கிற மோட்சத்திற்குள் சென்று வாழமுடியும். பாவங்களை மன்னிக்கிறவர் ஆண்டவர் இயேசு ஒருவர்தான். அவரிடம் நாம் நம் பாவங்களைச் சொல்லி மன்னிப்புக்கேட்டு, அவற்றை விட்டுவிடவேண்டும். அப்போது நம்முடைய பாவங்கள் மன்னிக்கப்படும்; பரலோக சந்தோஷம் நம்மை நிரப்பும். ஆமென்!

Chapter 6 - The Great Flood on Earth

(How to Lead a Life of Godliness?)

God, who wanted to save Noah and his family from the great destruction of the flood, ordered him to make an ark (ship) out of the copra tree. It was the first ship built on the face of the earth. But people laughed at it. They neither repented of their sinful habits nor sought after God who made them.

Noah's grandfather Methuselah also died (969) after Noah finished building the ark. In the same year, God asked Noah and his entire family to get into the ark along with few pairs of every kind of domestic animals, wild animals, and the birds of the air. Then the door of the ark was closed.

God opened the floodgates of heaven and the fountains of the depths of the earth. It rained on the earth for 40 days and 40 nights. All the mountains and all the high peaks above the earth were covered with water.

Because of the flood, everything that lived on the earth, from mankind to animal life, and everything that breathed through the nostrils died. God destroyed the sinful and ungodly world with water. But He kept Noah and his entire family safe during the flood inside the ark.

The Bible says, "The Lord knows how to deliver the godly from temptation and to reserve the ungodly for the day of judgment" (2 Peter 2:9).

Yes, God saved Noah, his wife, his three sons (Shem, Ham, Japheth) and their wives (a total of 8 people) from the great flood that came on earth as a judgment. They came out of the ark after the flood to lead their life on the face of the earth.

After the flood!

After the flood, God blessed Noah and his sons and said: "Be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth" (Genesis 9:1). And so their offspring began to multiply on this earth. Noah's firstborn son was Japheth; second son was Shem; and the youngest was Ham.

The first two of three sons of Noah were godly. But there was some kind of ungodliness in Ham, the third son. He was ill-mannered. The sin of homosexual was found in him and in his descendants. So he was cursed by his father. Since then a curse was on his offspring.

One of Ham's sons, Canaan, became the father of many nations. In the descendants of Canaan, the sin of homosexual was found more and more. Due to sin, the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah, where some of the descendants of Canaan lived, were destroyed by fire and brimstone.

In later days, the land of Ham - Egypt and Canaan, where more of the descendants of Ham lived, were judged and destroyed by God. The entire land of Canaan was captured by the descendants of Shem in war and the nation of Israel was formed.

Descendant of Shem!

The Bible says, "The Lord has chosen for himself the godly..." (Psalm 4:3). Therefore, God chose Japheth and Shem, who were godly, and blessed them. The descendants of both of them were godly and blessed. Especially, God chose the offspring of Shem to fullfil his plan of Salvation on earth.

It was in the offspring of Shem, God himself became flesh and born as a man of woman's seed (virgin's womb). He revealed on earth as a man to take upon Himself the sin of the entire human race and to make remission of sins of those who believe in Him. He is the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Shem's offspring was chosen by God to be godly and blessed among the people who lived on earth after the flood. As days went by and times changed, true godliness began to decline in that generation as well. Men started resorting to shortcuts to attain godliness.

Idolatry began to enter into the godly life of descendants of Shem. Man forgotten God who created him and started seeking foreign gods; he made gods for himself. It was at such a time that Abraham was born in the 9th generation of Shem's descendants.

ஜலப்பிரளயம் - ஓர் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு!

அத்தியாயம் 6

(தேவ பக்தியுள்ள வாழ்வு!)

நோவாவையும்¸ அவருடைய குடும்பத்தையும் பெரிய அழிவாகிய ஜலப்பிரளயத்திலிருந்து காப்பாற்ற நினைத்த தேவன்¸ பேழை (கப்பல்) ஒன்றைக் கொப்பேர் என்னும் மரத்தால் உண்டுபண்ண அவனுக்குக் கட்டளை கொடுத்தார். அதுதான் முதன் முதலில் கட்டப்பட்ட கப்பல்.  ஆனால்¸ ஜனங்களோ அதைப் பார்த்து நகைத்தனர்.  அவர்கள் தங்கள் பாவப் பழக்க வழக்கங்களை விட்டு மனந்திரும்பி¸ தங்களை உண்டாக்கின தேவனைத் தேட மனதில்லா திருந்தார்கள்.

நோவா பேழையைக் கட்டி முடித்த அந்த வருடத்தில் தானே அவருடைய தாத்தா மெத்தூசலாவும் (969) மரணமடைந்தார்.  அதே வருடத்தில்¸ தேவன் நோவாவையும்¸ அவருடைய முழுக் குடும்பத்தையும்¸ அவர்களோடுகூட சகல நாட்டு மிருகங்களிலும்¸ சகல காட்டு மிருகங்களிலும்¸ ஆகாயத்துப் பறவைகளிலும்¸ ஊரும் பிராணிகளிலும் ஒரு சில ஜோடிகளை பேழைக்குள் பிரவேசிக்கப்பண்ணினார். அதன்பின்பு பேழையின் கதவு அடைக்கப்பட்டது.

தேவன் வானத்தின் மதகுகளையும்¸ பூமியின் ஆழத்தின் ஊற்றுக் கண்களையும் திறந்துவிட்டார். 40 நாட்கள் இரவும் பகலும் பூமியின்மேல் மழை பெய்தது.  பூமியின் மேலுள்ள சகல மலைகளும்¸ உயரமான சகல சிகரங்களும் தண்ணீரால் மூடப்பட்டன.

ஜலப்பிரளயத்தினால் பூமியில் வாழ்ந்த மனிதன் முதல்¸ மிருக ஜீவன்கள் வரையிலும்¸ நாசியில் சுவாசமுள்ள யாவும் மாண்டுபோயின.  பாவம் நிறைந்த¸ அவபக்தியுள்ள உலகத்தைத் தேவன் தண்ணீரினால் அழித்தார். ஆனால்¸ நோவாவின் சந்ததியையோ தண்ணீரில் அழியாமல் காத்தார்.

வேதம் சொல்லுகிறது¸ “கர்த்தர் தேவபக்தியுள்ளவர்களைச் சோதனையி னின்று இரட்சிக்கவும்¸ அக்கிரமக்காரரை ஆக்கினைக்குள்ளானவர்களாக நியாயத்தீர்ப்பு நாளுக்கு வைக்கவும் அறிந்திருக்கிறார்” (2 பேதுரு 2:9) என்று.

ஆம்¸ ஜலப்பிரளயம் என்னும் நியாயத்தீர்ப்பிலே தேவன் நோவாவையும்¸ அவன் மனைவியையும்¸ அவன் மூன்று குமாரரையும் (சேம்¸ காம்¸ யாப்பேத்)¸ அவர்கள் மனைவிமார்களையும் (மொத்தம் 8 பேர்) காப்பாற்றினார். அவர்களாலே ஜலப்பிரளயத்திற்குப் பின்பு ஜனங்கள் பெருகத் தொடங்கி னார்கள்.

ஜலப்பிரளயத்திற்குப் பின்!

ஜலப்பிரளயத்திற்குப் பின்பு¸ தேவன் நோவாவையும் அவன் குமாரரையும் ஆசீர்வதித்து:  “நீங்கள் பலுகிப் பெருகி¸ பூமியை நிரப்புங்கள்” (ஆதியாகமம் 9:1) என்று சொல்லி ஆசீர்வதித்தார்.  அப்படியே அவர்களுடைய சந்ததி இந்தப் பூமியிலே பெருகத்தொடங்கியது.  நோவாவுடைய மூத்த குமாரன் யாப்பேத்¸ இரண்டாவது குமாரன் சேம்; இளையவன் காம்.

இவர்களில் முதல் இரண்டு பேரும் பக்தி உள்ளவர்களாய் இருந்தார்கள்.  ஆனால்¸ மூன்றாவது மகனாகிய காமுக்குள்ளே ஒருவித அவபக்தி காணப்பட்டது.  அவன் கெட்டநடக்கை உள்ளவனாயிருந்தான். ஆண் புணர்ச்சியாகிய பாவம் அவனிடத்திலும் அவன் சந்ததியினிடத்திலும் காணப்பட்டது. அதினால் அவன் தன் தகப்பனால் சபிக்கப்பட்டான். அவனுடைய சந்ததியில் சாபம் இருந்தது.

காமின் குமாரர்களில் ஒருவனாகிய கானான் பல ஜாதிகளுக்குத் தகப்பனானான்.  இந்தக் கானானுக்குள்ளும் அவன் சந்ததியாருக்குள்ளும் ஆண்புணர்ச்சியாகிய பாவம் மலிந்து கிடந்தது.  ஆகவே அவர்கள் வாழ்ந்த பட்டணங்களாகிய சோதோம்¸ கொமோரா ஆகியவை அக்கினியினாலும் கந்தகத்தினாலும் அழிக்கப்பட்டன.  பின் நாட்களில் காமின் சந்ததியார் வாழ்ந்து வந்த காமின் தேசமாகிய எகிப்து¸ மற்றும் கானான் முதலியன தேவனால் நியாயந்தீர்க்கப்பட்டு அழிவைக் கண்டன.  கானான் தேசம் முழுவதும் சேமின் சந்ததியாரால் யுத்தத்தில் பிடிக்கப்பட்டு இஸ்ரவேல் என்னும் தேசம் உருவானது.

சேமின் சந்ததி!

“பக்தியுள்ளவனைக் கர்த்தர் தமக்காகத் தெரிந்து கொண்டார்...” (சங்கீதம் 4:3) என்று வேதம் சொல்லுகிறது.  ஆகவே¸ பக்தியுள்ளவர்களாகிய யாப்பேத்தையும்¸ சேமையும் தேவன் தெரிந்துகொண்டார்.  அவர்களை ஆசீர்வதித்தார்.  அவர்கள் இரண்டு பேருடைய சந்ததியுமே ஆசீர்வதிக்கப்பட்ட¸ பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததிகள்தான். அதிலும் தேவன் ஒரு சந்ததியை விசேஷமாகத் தெரிந்தெடுத்தார்.  அதுதான் சேமின் சந்ததி.

சேமின் சந்ததியில்தான் தேவாதி தேவன் மாம்சமாகி¸ ஸ்திரீயின் வித்தாகக் கன்னியின் வயிற்றில் வந்துதித்தார்.  இந்த முழு மனுக்குலத்தின் பாவத்தையும் தன்மேல் ஏற்றுக்கொண்டு¸ முழு உலகத்தையும் பக்தியுள்ள ஒரு சந்ததியாக மாற்ற விரும்பினார்.  ஆம்¸ அவர்தான் ஆண்டவரும் இரட்சகருமான இயேசு கிறிஸ்து.

சேமுடைய சந்ததி பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியாகவும்¸ தேவனால் தெரிந்து கொள்ளப்பட்ட சந்ததியாகவும் இருந்தது.  நாட்கள் செல்லச் செல்ல¸ காலங்கள் மாற மாற அந்தச் சந்ததியிலும் உண்மையான தேவபக்தி குறையத் தொடங்கியது.  தேவ பக்தியை அடைவதற்கு மனிதன் குறுக்கு வழிகளை நாட ஆரம்பித்து விட்டான்.

விக்கிரக வழிபாடு மனிதனுக்குள் நுழையத் தொடங்கியது. மனிதன் தன்னை உண்டாக்கின தெய்வத்தை மறந்து¸ அந்நிய தேவர்களை நாட ஆரம்பித்துவிட்டான்; தனக்கென தெய்வங்களை உண்டாக்கிக் கொண்டான்.  அப்படிப்பட்ட கால கட்டத்தில் தான்¸ சேமுடைய சந்ததியில் 9-ம் தலைமுறையிலே பிறந்தவர் ஆபிரகாம் என்கிற ஒரு பக்தன்.

Chapter 5 - Godly Ancestors

(How to Lead a Life of Godliness?)

God gave Adam another son after Abel, whom Cain had killed. His name was Seth. Seth looked more like Adam.

Seth and His Descendants

Seth became the father of a godly generation and Cain became the father of an ungodly generation. Seth also had a son, whose name was Enosh. Then men began to worship the name of God. Yes, godliness was found in the race of human beings on this earth.

Men had easily enjoyed the presence of God until Cain killed Abel. That is, men were able to communicate with God directly. God spoke to man; man also spoke to God.

But after man began to sin willfully, the presence of God had been alienated from him. Only then did the man begin to realize his spiritual condition.

When Enos was born, human beings felt the need to search for God who had created them in His own image. They began to worship God and started calling on His name. When they sought after Him in worship, they were able to come closer to Him.

"What other nation is so great as to have their gods near them the way the Lord our God is near us whenever we pray to him?" (Deuteronomy 4:7)

Enoch walked with God!

"When Enoch had lived 65 years, he became the father of Methuselah.

After he became the father of Methuselah, Enoch walked faithfully with God 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

Altogether, Enoch lived a total of 365 years.

Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away." (Genesis 5:24-24)

Enoch was born in the fourth generation of Enos. He was the one who walked with God closely than all his ancestors. Although Enoch got involved in family life and had sons and daughters, he had a closer walk with God. He was faithful in his walk with God. So God took him out of this world without causing natural death.

It was Enoch who was taken from the earth without seeing natural death, after the death of Adam (930) and Abel (killed by his brother Cain). After his life time, human beings began to multiply on this earth. Then sin and ungodliness were more prevalent among men.

Noah - A Righteous and Godly Man!

God raised a righteous and godly man in the third generation of Enoch on this earth. His name was Noah. Noah means Comforter.

The earth was not able to bear its fruit because of the curse that fell on mankind after Adam's sin. There was no rain on the earth. Noah was born in the midst of such grief. But, as his name implies, he brought comfort to his parents, his descendants, and the whole world.

Noah was pious and righteous among the people of his time (before great flood). God was moved with remorse for the human beings whom he created, because of the depravity of men and women, and of the increase of sin.

For the sake of human beings, God decided to destroy the whole world and all living beings in it by water. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord. God didn't want to destroy him and his whole family in water to be flooded on the earth.

Many of his forefathers (the pious) died in the days of Noah. His ancestors, from Enos (905) to Enoch (365), gone to be with the Lord during this period. After the birth of his sons - Shem, Ham and Japheth, Noah's father Lamech (777) died. Only Noah's grandfather Methuselah was alive.

பக்தியுள்ள முற்பிதாக்கள்!

 அத்தியாயம் 5

(தேவ பக்தியுள்ள வாழ்வு!)

காயீன் கொலை செய்த ஆபேலுக்குப் பதிலாகத் தேவன் ஆதாமுக்கு இன்னொரு குமாரனைக் கொடுத்தார்.  அவன் பெயர் சேத்.  சேத் ஆதாமைப்போலவே தோற்றத் தில் காணப்பட்டான்.

சேத்தின் சந்ததி ஒரு பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியாயிருந்தது.  சேத்துக்கும் ஒரு குமாரன் பிறந்தான்.  அவனுக்கு ஏனோஸ் என்று பெயரிட்டார்கள்.  அப்பொழுது மனிதர் தேவனுடைய நாமத்தைத் தொழுதுகொள்ள ஆரம்பித்தார்கள்.  ஆம்¸ தேவபக்தி மனிதர்களுக்குள் உண்டானது.

காயீன் ஆபேலைக் கொலை செய்வதற்கு முன்பு வரை தேவ பிரசன்னத்தை மனிதன் எளிதாக அனுபவித்து வந்தான்.  அதாவது தேவனோடு மனிதனால் எளிதாகத் தொடர்புகொள்ள முடிந்தது.  தேவன் மனிதனோடு பேசினார்; மனிதனும் தேவனோடு பேசினான். 

ஆனால்¸ மனிதன் துணிகரமாகப் பாவங்களைச் செய்ய ஆரம்பித்தது முதல் தேவசமூகம் அவனுக்குத் தூரமாக்கப்பட்டது.  அப்பொழுதுதான் மனிதன் தன் நிலையை உணர ஆரம்பித்தான்.

ஏனோஸ் பிறந்தபொழுது¸ மனிதனுக்குள் தன்னை உண்டாக்கின தேவனையும்¸ அவருடைய சமூகத்தையும் தேட வேண்டும் என்கிற உணர்வு உண்டானது.  அப்பொழுது அவன் தேவனைத் தொழ ஆரம்பித்தான்.  அவரை நமஸ்கரிக்கவும்¸ சேவிக்கவும் ஆரம்பித்தான்;  அவரை நோக்கிக் கூப்பிட ஆரம்பித்தான்.  அப்படித் தொழுதுகொள்ளும்பொழுது அவனுக்குத் தேவசமூகம் கிட்டியது.

“நம்முடைய தேவனாகிய கர்த்தரை நாம் தொழுதுகொள்ளுகிற போதெல்லாம் அவர் நமக்குச் சமீபமாயிருக்கிறது போல¸ தேவனை இவ்வளவு சமீபமாய்ப் பெற்றிருக்கிற வேறே பெரிய ஜாதி எது?” (உபாகமம் 4:7).

தேவனோடு சஞ்சரித்த ஏனோக்கு!

“ஏனோக்கு அறுபத்தைந்து வயதானபோது¸ மெத்தூசலாவைப் பெற்றான்.  ஏனோக்கு மெத்தூசலாவைப் பெற்றபின்¸ முந்நூறு வருஷம் தேவனோடே சஞ்சரித்துக் கொண்டிருந்து¸ குமாரரையும் குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற் றான்.  ஏனோக்குடைய நாளெல்லாம் முந்நூற்று அறுபத்தைந்து வருஷம்.

ஏனோக்கு தேவனோடே சஞ்சரித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கையில் காணப் படாமற்போனான்; தேவன் அவனை எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்.” (ஆதியாகமம் 5: 21-24)

பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியில்¸ ஏனோஸின் நான்காம்  தலை முறையில் பிறந்தவர் ஏனோக்கு.  இவர் இவருடைய முன்னோர்கள் எல்லோரையும்விட மிகவும் பக்தி நிறைந்தவராயிருந்தார். 

இந்த ஏனோக்கு குடும்ப வாழ்க்கையில் ஈடுபட்டுக் குமாரரையும்¸ குமாரத்திகளையும் பெற்றாலும்¸ தேவனோடு நெருங்கிய ஐக்கியம் கொண்டிருந்தார்.  தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமானவராய்க் காணப்பட்டார்.  ஆகவே தேவன் அவரை இந்த உலகை விட்டு மரணம் ஏற்படாமலேயே எடுத்துக்கொண்டார்.

ஆதாம் (930)¸ ஆபேல் என்பவர்களுடைய மரணங் களுக்குப் பின்பு¸ மரணத்தைக் காணாமலேயே எடுத்துக் கொள்ளப்பட்டவர் இந்த ஏனோக்கு தான்.  இவருக்குப் பின்னர் இந்தப் பூமியிலே மனிதர்கள் மிகவும் பலுகிப் பெருகத் தொடங்கினார்கள்.  அப்பொழுது பாவமும்¸ அவபக்தியும் மனிதர் களுக்குள் அதிகம் காணப்பட்டது.

நீதிமானாகிய நோவா!

பாவம் நிறைந்த பூமியில்¸ ஏனோக்குடைய மூன்றாம் தலை முறையில் தேவன் ஒரு நீதிமானைத் தோன்றப்பண்ணினார்.  அவர்தான் நோவா.  நோவா என்றால் ஆற்றுகிறவன் (ஆறுதல் செய்கிறவன்) என்று அர்த்தம்.  

ஆதாமின் பாவத்திற்குப் பின்¸ பாவத்தின் விளைவாக வந்த சாபத்தினால் பூமி தன் பலனைக் கொடாமலிருந்தது.  பூமியின்மேல் மழை பெய்யாதிருந்தது. அப்படிப்பட்ட வருத்தத்தின் மத்தியில் பிறந்தவர்தான் நோவா.  ஆனால்¸ அவருடைய பெயருக்கேற்ப அவர் அவருடைய பெற்றோர்களுக்கும்¸ அவருடைய சந்ததிக்கும்¸ இந்த முழு உலகத்திற்குமே ஆறுதலைக் கொண்டு வந்தார்.

நோவா அக்காலத்திலே வாழ்ந்த மனிதர்களுக்குள் (பாவம் பெருகின நாட்களிலுள்ளவர்களில்) பக்திமானும்¸ நீதிமானுமாயிருந்தார். மனிதர் களுக்குள் பக்தி குறைந்து¸ பாவம் பெருகினபடியினாலே¸ தாம் உண்டாக்கின மனு வர்க்கத்திற்காய்த் தேவன் மனஸ்தாபப்பட்டார்.  

மனிதன் நிமித்தம்; முழு உலகத்தையும்¸ அதிலுள்ள சகல ஜீவராசிகளையும் தண்ணீரினால் அழிக்கத் தேவன் தீர்மானித்தார். ஆனால்¸ நோவாவுக்கோ கர்த்தருடைய கண்களில் கிருபை கிடைத்தது.  அவனையும் சேர்த்து நீரில் அழிப்பதில் தேவனுக்கு விருப்பமில்லை.

நோவாவுடைய நாட்களில்தான் அவருடைய முன்னோர் களில் (பக்திமான்கள்) அநேகர் மரித்திருக்கின்றனர்.  அவருடைய முற்பிதாக்களாகிய ஏனோஸ் (905) முதல் ஏனோக்கு (365) வரைக்கும் இந்தக் காலக்கட்டத்தில்தான் மறைந்திருக்கிறார்கள்.  நோவாவுக்குக் குமாரர்கள் பிறந்த பிறகு¸ அவருடைய தகப்பனார் லாமேக்கும் (777) மரித்தார்.  அவருடைய தாத்தா மெத்தூசலா மட்டும் உயிரோடு இருந்தார்.

தேவ பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததி!

"அவர் ஒருவனையல்லவா படைத்தார்? ஆவி அவரிடத்தில் பரிபூரணமாயிருந்ததே.  பின்னை ஏன் ஒருவனைப் படைத்தார்? தேவபக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியைப் பெறும்படிதானே" (மல்கியா 2:15).

கர்த்தர் உங்களை கணவன், மனைவியாக, குடும்பமாக ஏற்படுத்தியிருப்பதற்கு ஒரு முக்கியமான நோக்கம் உண்டு.  நீங்கள் பிள்ளையைப் பெற்றுவிட அல்ல.  தேவபக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியைப் பெறும்படி அவர் விரும்புகிறார். 

நீங்கள் நீதிமானுடைய சந்ததி என்றும் கர்த்தருடைய பிள்ளைகள் என்றும் அழைக்கப்படுகிறார்களா?  உங்களுக்கு பிள்ளைகள் பிறக்கும்போது, அவர்கள் கர்த்தரால் போதிக்கப்பட்டிருக்க வேண்டும். அவர்கள் கர்த்தரை மகிமைப்படுத்த வேண்டும்.

இந்த உலகத்தில் புறஜாதி மக்களும்,  கர்த்தரை அறியாதவர்கள், கிறிஸ்துவை எதிர்ப்பவர்களும், துன்மார்க்கர்களும், கொலையாளி களுமாயிருக்கிறார்கள். அவர்கள் தேவ பக்தியற்ற துன்மார்க்க சந்ததியை உருவாக்குகிறார்கள்.

ஆனால் நீங்களோ, பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியைப் பெறவேண்டுமென்று கர்த்தர் விரும்புகிறார்.  உங்களுடைய குடும்பம் கூனி, குறுகி போய்விட ஆண்டவர் விடுவதில்லை.

நீங்கள் பலுகிப்பெருகினால், சுவிசேஷமும் பெருகும்.  கோணலும், மாறுபாடுமுள்ள இந்த சந்ததியிலே, கர்த்தர் உங்களுடைய குடும்பத்தை தெரிந்தெடுத்து, மேன்மைப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார். உங்களுடைய குடும்பம் கர்த்தரை பிரியப்படுத்துகிறதாகவும், நேசிக்கிறதாகவுமிருக்கட்டும்.  

கர்த்தர்தாமே உங்கள் குடும்பத்தை ஆசீர்வதித்து தேவ பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியாக பழுகி பெறுகச் செய்வாராக.  ஆமென் அல்லேலூயா!!

"இதோ, பிள்ளைகள் கர்த்தரால் வரும் சுதந்திரம்; கர்ப்பத்தின் கனி அவரால் கிடைக்கும் பலன்"  (சங்கீதம் 127:4).

Repent that you may Live Long!

 Unless You Repent!

LUKE (13: 1-5)

God wants us to repent from our sinful behavior and acts so that we may live long on earth. The following are the verses from Luke 13 that conveys a conversation between Jesus and those who were standing around him:

1. Now there were some present at that time who told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate, the Governor of Jerusalem had mixed with their sacrifices
2. Jesus answered, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans because they suffered this way?
3. I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish
4. Or those eighteen who died when the tower in Siloam fell on them – do you think they were more guilty than all the others living in Jerusalem?
5. I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

From the above verses, we can conclude the following:

1. People suffer and die because of their sin.
2. There is no need to compare sinners – one with another.
3. Every sinner – whether he is less guilty or more guilty – he must repent, or else he will be punished.
4. A sinner – whether he is a gentile (Galilean) or a Jew (citizen of Jerusalem) – he will be punished, if he sins against God.
5. God doesn't show favoritism. But He is a merciful and compassionate God, who accepts and cleanses  a sinner from all his unrighteousness, if only he repents.
