 தேவபக்தியுள்ள சந்ததி!

(அத்தியாயம் 1)

“அவர் ஒருவனையல்லவா படைத்தார்? ஆவி அவரிடத்தில் பரிபூரணமாயிருந்ததே¸ பின்னை ஏன் ஒருவனைப் படைத்தார்? தேவபக்தியுள்ள சந்ததியைப் பெறும்படிதானே. ...” (மல்கியா 2:15)

“தேவன் தம்முடைய சாயலாக மனுஷனைச் சிருஷ்டித்தார்; அவனைத் தேவசாயலாகவே சிருஷ்டித்தார்; ஆணும் பெண்ணுமாக அவர்களைச் சிருஷ்டித்தார்.” (ஆதியாகமம் 1:27)

ஆதியிலே தேவன் மனிதனைப் படைத்தபொழுது அவனைத் தன் சாயலின்படியேயும்¸ தன் ரூபத்தின்படியேயும் படைத்தார். அவனை மண்ணினாலே வனைந்து அவனுக்குள் தம் சுவாசத்தை ஊதினார். அப்பொழுது அவனுக்குள் ஜீவன் (ஆவியும்¸ ஆத்துமாவும்) வந்தது. அவன் ஜீவ ஆத்துமாவானான். அப்படி முதன் முதலில் உண்டாக்கப்பட்ட மனிதன்தான் ஆதாம்!

ஆதியிலே தேவனால் உண்டாக்கப்பட்டது ஒரே ஒரு மனிதன்தான். அநேகரல்ல. ஏனென்று தெரியுமா? ஏனென்றால்¸ அந்த ஒருவன் மூலமாய் பக்தியுள்ள சந்ததி இந்த உலகத்தில் தோன்றவேண்டுமென்பதற்காகத்தான்.

தேவன் ஆதாம் என்கிற ஒரு மனிதனுக்குப் பதிலாகப் பலரை உண்டுபண்ணியிருப்பாரென்றால்¸ பக்தியுள்ள ஜனக் கூட்டம் (வம்சம்) இந்த உலகத்தில் தோன்றியிருக்க முடியாது. அதற்கு மாறாக மனிதர்களுக்குள் அவபக்தியும்¸ அவ மரியாதையும்தான் காணப்பட்டிருக்கும். ஒவ்வொரு மனிதனும் தன் தன் மன விருப்பத்தின் படியேயும்¸ யோசனையின்படியேயும் நடந்திருப்பான். சமுதாயத்தில் ஒழுங்கு காணப்பட்டிருக்க முடியாது.

பக்தி என்றால் என்ன?

பக்தி என்பது மனிதன் தன்னை உண்டாக்கின தேவனிடத்தில் (சிருஷ்டிகரிடத்தில்) கொண்டிருக்கும் உறவைக் குறிக்கிறது. பக்தியுள்ள மனிதன் கீழ்க்காணும் குணாதிசயங்கள் உடையவனாயிருப்பான்:

1. தேவன் ஒருவர் உண்டென்று நம்புவான். அதாவது¸ தான் இயற்கையாக இந்த உலகத்தில் தோன்றிவிடவில்லை என்றும்¸ தன்னை உண்டாக்கின தேவன் ஒருவர் இருக்கிறார் என்றும் நம்புவான்.

2. தேவனோடு தினந்தோறும் உறவுகொள்ள விரும்புவான். அவருடைய சமூகத்தை (பிரசன்னத்தை) நித்தமும் தேடுவான்; அவரும் தன்னோடுகூட இருக்கவேண்டும் என்று வாஞ்சிப்பான்.

3. தேவனுக்குப் பிரியமான காரியங்களையே செய்ய நாடுவான். அவருக்குரிய கனத்தையும்¸ மரியாதையையும் அவருக்குக் கொடுப்பான்; அவரைத் தொழுதுகொள்ளவும் (நமஸ்கரிக்கவும்)¸ சேவிக்கவும் செய்வான்.

ஒருநாள் திருடன் ஒருவன் இரவு நேரத்தில் திருடு வதற்காக ஒரு வீட்டிற்குள் நுழைந்தான். அந்த வீட்டின் சொந்தக்காரரோ பக்தி நிறைந்தவர். அவர் கடவுள்மேல் நம்பிக்கை வைத்துவிட்டு நிம்மதியாகத் தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்தார். அந்த வீட்டிற்குள் நுழைந்த திருடன் நேராக பீரோ உள்ள அறைக்குள் நுழைந்தான். பீரோவைத் திறந்து பணம் மற்றும் நகைகளை ஒரு மூட்டையில் கட்டினான்.

தன்னால் முடித்த அனைத்தையும் எடுத்துக் கொண்டு போகும் தருவாயில்¸ திடீரென அவனுக்கு வழக்கம்போல வரும் வயிற்று வலி வந்துவிட்டது. அந்த வயிற்று வலியை அவனால் தாங்கிக்கொள்ள முடியவில்லை. செய்வதறியாது திகைத்தான்.

வயிற்று வலியால் துடி துடித்துக்கொண்டிருந்த அவன் அந்தச் சுவற்றில் மாட்டப்பட்டிருந்த இயேசு கிறிஸ்துவின் படத்தைப் பார்த்தான். அவனுக்குள் ஒரு எண்ணம் எழுந்தது¸ “ஏன் இயேசுகிறிஸ்துவை ஒருமுறை கூப்பிட்டுப்பார்க்கக் கூடாது?” என்று. உடனே இயேசுவிடம் தன் பாவங்களை அறிக்கையிட்டான்: “இயேசுவே¸ என்னை மன்னியும். இந்த வயிற்று வலியிலிருந்து எனக்குச் சுகம் தாரும்; நான் இனித் திருடமாட்டேன்” என்று சொல்லித் தன் தவற்றை ஒப்புக்கொண்டான்.

உடனே அந்த வயிற்று வலி அவனை விட்டு நீங்கிற்று. தான் திருடிய எல்லாப் பொருட்களையும் அப்படியே போட்டுவிட்டுத் திரும்பிப் போனான். சந்தோஷமும்¸ சமாதானமும் அவனுக்குக் கிடைத்தது. என்னே பாக்கியம்

ஆம்¸ அந்தக் கள்ளனுக்குள் காணப்பட்டது ஒருவிதமான பக்தி. அதினால் அவனுக்குக் கிடைத்தது பாவமன்னிப்பும்¸ சரீர சுகமும்! இன்று நம்முடைய பக்தி எப்படிப்பட்டதாயிருக்கிறது என்று நாம் சற்று சிந்தித்துப் பார்ப்போமா?

பக்தியுள்ள முதல் குடும்பம்!

"தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மனுஷனை ஏதேன் தோட்டத்தில் அழைத்துக்கொண்டு வந்து¸ அதைப் பண்படுத்தவும் காக்கவும் வைத்தார்.

தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர் மனுஷனை நோக்கி: நீ தோட்டத்திலுள்ள சகல விருட்சத்தின் கனியையும் புசிக்கவே புசிக்கலாம்.

ஆனாலும் நன்மை தீமை அறியத்தக்க விருட்சத்தின் கனியைப் புசிக்கவேண்டாம்; அதை நீ புசிக்கும் நாளில் சாகவே சாவாய் என்று கட்டளையிட்டார். பின்பு¸ தேவனாகிய கர்த்தர்: மனுஷன் தனிமையாயிருப்பது நல்லதல்ல¸ ஏற்ற துணையை அவனுக்கு உண்டாக்குவேன் என்றார்" (ஆதியாகமம் 2:16-18)

தேவன் ஆதாமை உண்டாக்கி¸ அவனை ஏதேன் என்னும் தோட்டத்தில் வாழவைத்தார். அந்தத் தோட்டத்தில் அவனுக்குத் தேவையான சகலவிதமான கனிதரும் மரங்களையும் நாட்டியிருந்தார். அதோடுகூட தோட்டத்தின் நடுவிலே இரண்டுவிதமான மரங்களையும் வைத்திருந்தார். அதில் ஒன்று ஜீவவிருட்சம்; மற்றொன்று நன்மை தீமை அறியத்தக்க மரம்.

இப்படிப்பட்ட கனி விருட்சங்கள் நிறைந்த அந்தத் தோட்டத்தைப் பண்படுத்திப் பாதுகாக்கும் பணியை அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தார். அதுமட்டுமல்ல¸ தான் உண்டாக்கின பறவைகள்¸ மிருகங்கள்¸ ஊரும் பிராணிகள்¸ கடல்வாழ் ஜந்துக்கள் ஆகிய யாவற்றையும் ஆளுகின்ற அதிகாரத்தையும் அவனுக்குக் கொடுத்தார்.

மேலும்¸ தேவன் ஆதாமுக்கு அவன் கைக்கொள்ளும்படிக்கு ஒரே ஒரு கட்டளையையும் கொடுத்தார். அந்தக் கட்டளை என்னவென்றால்¸ தோட்டத்திலுள்ள சகல கனிகளையும் அவன் பறித்துப் புசிக்கலாம். ஆனால்¸ அந்ததத் தோட்டத்தின் நடுவிலுள்ள மரமாகிய நன்மை தீமை அறியத்தக்க மரத்தின் கனியை மாத்திரம் அவன் புசிக்கக்கூடாது என்பதுதான். அதைப் புசிக்கும் நாளிலே அவன் சாகவே சாவான் என்பதாகவும் கூறினார்.

தாம் உண்டாக்கிய மனிதனாகிய ஆதாம் தனிமையாய் அந்தத் தோட்டத்தில் இருப்பது நல்லதல்ல என்று தேவன் கண்டு¸ அவனுக்கு ஒரு துணையை (பெண்ணை) அவன் விலா எலும்பிலிருந்து உண்டாக்கினார். அவள்தான் ஏவாள். அவளே ஜீவனுள்ள மனிதர்கள் அனைவருக்கும் தாயானவள். அவள் மூலமாய் இந்த உலகத்தில் சந்ததிகள் தோன்ற ஆரம்பித்தன.

ஆதாமும் ஏவாளும் தங்கள் இல்லற வாழ்க்கையை ஏதேன் தோட்டத்தில் சந்தோஷமாய் ஆரம்பித்தனர். ஒவ்வொருநாளும் அதிகாலையில் தேவனோடு உறவாடி மகிழ்ந்தனர். தேவ பக்தியுள்ள நல்ல குடும்பமாகத் திகழ்ந்தனர்.

ஒருநாள் ஏதேன் தோட்டத்திற்குள் சாத்தான் என்கிற சத்துருவானவன் பாம்பின் மூலமாக நுழைந்தான். தோட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியில் ஏவாள் தனித்திருந்த பொழுது¸ அவளோடு பேசத்தொடங்கினான். அவளைத் தன் பொய் வார்த்தைகளினால் மயங்கப்பண்ணினான்.

சாத்தானால் வஞ்சிக்கப்பட்ட அந்தப் பெண் தேவன் புசிக்கவேண்டாம் என்று விலக்கின நன்மை தீமை அறியத்தக்க கனியைப் பறித்துப் புசித்து¸ தன் கணவனுக்கும் கொடுத்தாள். ஆதாமும் அதை வாங்கிப் புசித்து தேவனுடைய கட்டளையை மீறினான்; தேவனுக்குக் கீழ்ப்படியாமற்போனான். பக்தியுள்ள அந்த முதல் குடும்பத்திற்குள் பாவம் பிரவேசித்தது.

எதுதூன் இடத்தில் ஒப்புவித்த தாவீதின் சங்கீதம்!

1. என் நாவினால் பாவஞ்செய்யாதபடிக்கு நான் என் வழிகளைக் காத்து¸ துன்மார்க்கன் எனக்கு முன்பாக இருக்குமட்டும் என் வாயைக் கடிவாளத்தால் அடக்கிவைப்பேன் என்றேன்.

2. நான் மவுனமாகி¸ ஊமையனாயிருந்தேன்¸ நலமானதையும் பேசாமல் அமர்ந்திருந்தேன்; ஆனாலும் என் துக்கம் அதிகரித்தது;

3. என் இருதயம் எனக்குள்ளே அனல்கொண்டது; நான் தியானிக்கையில் அக்கினி மூண்டது; அப்பொழுது என் நாவினால் விண்ணப்பம் செய்தேன்.

4. கர்த்தாவே¸ நான் எவ்வளவாய் நிலையற்றவன் என்று உணரும்படி என் முடிவையும்¸ என் நாட்களின் அளவு இவ்வளவு என்பதையும் எனக்குத் தெரிவியும்.

5. இதோ¸ என் நாட்களை நாலு விரற்கடையளவாக்கினீர்; என் ஆயுசு உமது பார்வைக்கு இல்லாததுபோலிருக்கிறது¸ எந்த மனுஷனும் மாயையே என்பது நிச்சயம். (சேலா.)

6. வேஷமாகவே மனுஷன் திரிகிறான்@ விருதாவாகவே சஞ்சலப்படுகிறான்; ஆஸ்தியைச் சேர்க்கிறான்¸ யார் அதை வாரிக்கொள்ளுவான் என்று அறியான்.

7. இப்போதும் ஆண்டவரே¸ நான் எதற்கு எதிர்பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்? நீரே என் நம்பிக்கை.

8. என் மீறுதல்கள் எல்லாவற்றிலுமிருந்து என்னை விடுதலையாக்கும்¸ மூடனுடைய நிந்தனைக்கு என்னை ஒப்புக்கொடாதேயும்.

9. நீரே இதைச் செய்தீர் என்று நான் என் வாயைத் திறவாமல் மவுனமாயிருந்தேன்.

10. என்னிலிருந்து உம்முடைய வாதையை எடுத்துப்போடும்; உமது கரத்தின் அடிகளால் நான் சோர்ந்து போனேன்.

11. அக்கிரமத்தினிமித்தம் நீர் மனுஷனைக் கடிந்துகொண்டு தண்டிக்கிறபோது¸ அவன் வடிவைப் பொட்டரிப்பைப்போல் அழியப்பண்ணுகிறீர்; நிச்சயமாக எந்த மனுஷனும் மாயையே. (சேலா.)

12. கர்த்தாவே¸ என் ஜெபத்தைக்கேட்டு¸ என் கூப்பிடுதலுக்குச் செவிகொடும்; என் கண்ணீருக்கு மவுனமாயிராதேயும்; என் பிதாக்களெல்லாரையும்போல நானும் உமக்குமுன்பாக அந்நியனும் பரதேசியுமாயிருக்கிறேன்.

From Hindu to Christian: The Testimony of Ganga Narayan Sil

The Conversion and Service of GANGA NARAYAN SIL to Christianity

GANGA NARAYAN SIL was born a Hindu but died a Christian.  His path to conversion was slow and convoluted. But when he finally encountered the living Christ, he became a passionate soul-winner.

Sil’s first contact with Christianity was through the Chitpore mission school at Calcutta.  He attended there two years before the school’s religious instruction sank into his mind.  Then he recognized his guilt before his Creator and his need of a savior.  Examining Hindu teachings, he decided they were insufficient for his need.  He also examined Islam and found it unsatisfying.  

Convinced that Christianity has the truth, he attempted to live by its precepts and published an article contrasting it with Hinduism.  This brought reproach upon him from his family and other Indians.  About this time he came across infidel writings that cast doubt on the divinity of Christ and other Christian doctrines.  He scrapped all faith and plunged into sin. He went further and tried to refute Christianity, but found he could not.

Scripture warnings came to his mind, especially “Whoever remains stiff-necked after many rebukes will suddenly be destroyed—without remedy,” and he found himself uneasily contemplating eternity.  At that point he read Philip Doddridge’s "Rise and Progress of Religion in the Soul" and it deeply affected him. Still he resisted conversion. 

What finally set him back on the road to embracing Christianity was the observation that several great scientists and philosophers, such as Sir Isaac Newton and Francis Bacon, had found Christianity worthy of consideration.  He had also read of the death bed terrors of infidels such as Voltaire and Thomas Paine, and saw that their defiance of biblical truths did not end well.

Salvation and Service of Narayan Sil:

Returning to study of the Bible, he opened his heart to Christ.  On 27th August 1837, Ganga Narayan Sil was baptized at the Baptist mission in Calcutta.  Thereafter he was a close student of Scripture and went out several times a week to preach in the Bengali language at local chapels, in parks, and on the streets.  Because of his intellect, humility, and patience, many Indians sought him out for advice on their religious questions.

Sil’s ministry lasted not quite seven years after his baptism because he died of cholera after a short illness in August 1843.  He was just twenty-seven years old.  While he was dying, his mother entreated him to call on his childhood gods but he clung to Christ alone as his righteousness.

Does life feel out of control? Just Wait on God!

Does life feel out of control?

400 years. That’s how long the Israelites waited for God to deliver them from slavery. But after they left Egypt, God didn’t take them directly to their promised land.

Instead, they camped out at the base of a mountain while God instructed Moses. During that time, God’s glory rested on the mountain.

But after 40 days, the Israelites grew frustrated by the delay…so they rejected God and pursued whatever pleased them.

If you’ve ever felt frustrated by an uncertain season that lasts longer than you anticipated, you’re not alone.

Waiting can lead to disappointment and frustration. In those moments, we can become so focused on our circumstances that we forget God is still in control. If God’s in control, we might ask, then where is He? Why hasn’t anything changed?

Here are three truths to remember:

1. Waiting reveals what you worship

   When the Israelites’ plans were delayed, they pursued instant gratification because that’s what they actually valued.

   When you find yourself dissatisfied with your situation, what do you turn to? What you focus on reveals what you value, and what you value determines what you worship.

2. Waiting is never wasted

   God wasn’t withholding His promise from the Israelites—He was preparing them for it.

   God’s timeline is different than ours, but your waiting might actually be preparing you for the plans and purposes God has for you.

3. Waiting helps us focus on God’s faithfulness

   God’s faithfulness hasn’t changed. The God who patiently protected and provided for the Israelites also conquered death so that you could experience eternal life.

   If you find yourself growing weary from waiting, look up and look back. Look for evidence of God’s presence, and look back on what He’s done for you. This will help you hold onto hope.

Hoping in God is never wasted because the One who conquered death is still in control, and He’s always at work in your waiting.

Rethink prayer - Day 1!

Many Christ followers struggle to have a decent prayer life. It can be hard for us because it’s easy to focus on the act of praying itself instead of focusing on God. Having an awesome prayer life is not the goal. Connecting with God and growing in our intimacy with Him is.

Maybe this scenario is familiar: We start praying when life is hard. Then life gets easier, and we don’t pray as much because we don’t need God as much. But, something difficult comes across our path and we know we need to pray about it. We feel guilty about it because we haven’t prayed in a while and we assume that God is mad at us. 

It’s time to rethink prayer. 

Let’s think of prayer in light of our closest relationships. It could be a sibling, our spouse, or a best friend. Our communication with them is easy and natural. We might send a text message, make a phone call, or visit with them in person. Sometimes we have long visits and other times, the messages are brief. We usually don’t begin our conversation with this person like this: “Dear Jenny, thank you for answering my call today. I am excited to talk to you. Let’s discuss...” Instead, we have this ongoing conversation that tends to just carry on to the next one. 

If we will treat prayer like we treat that relationship with those closest to us, prayer will intertwine throughout all areas of our lives. It will connect the parts that we have disconnected from God. It will be an ongoing conversation we have with Him—filled with moments of gratitude, praying for others, and even sharing our frustrations. And if this conversation is ongoing, then truly, is there even a need to ever say “amen”?

This doesn’t mean that we don’t show Him the honor He is worthy of. We don’t address Him with, “Hey dude...sup.” No, we live our lives where He is honored and worshiped and in doing so, our encounters with Him are far more genuine. He cares less about our words to Him and more about the place where the words came from.

Our relationship with God will grow as we strive to have an ongoing conversation with Him. Both short and long prayers have their place. But we can’t just expect to get to know him in a five-minute segment each morning. We have to bring Him into our daily lives and allow Him to breathe His peace, hope, comfort, and guidance into every aspect of it.

It’s time to rethink prayer.

28:1 ஒருவனும் தொடராதிருந்தும் துன்மார்க்கர் ஓடிப்போகிறார்கள்; நீதிமான்களோ சிங்கத்தைப்போலே தைரியமாயிருக்கிறார்கள்.

28:1 The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.

28:2 தேசத்தின் பாவத்தினிமித்தம் அதின் அதிகாரிகள் அநேகராயிருக்கிறார்கள்; புத்தியும் அறிவுமுள்ள மனுஷனாலோ அதின் நற்சீர் நீடித்திருக்கும்.

28:2 For the transgression of a land many are the princes thereof: but by a man of understanding and knowledge the state thereof shall be prolonged.

28:3 ஏழைகளை ஒடுக்குகிற தரித்திரன் ஆகாரம் விளையாதபடி வெள்ளமாய் அடித்துக்கொண்டுபோகிற மழையைப்போலிருக்கிறான்.

28:3 A poor man that oppresseth the poor is like a sweeping rain which leaveth no food.

28:7 Whoso keepeth the law is a wise son: but he that is a companion of riotous menshameth his father.

28:8 அநியாய வட்டியினாலும் ஆதாயத்தினாலும் தன் ஆஸ்தியைப் பெருகப்பண்ணுகிறவன், தரித்திரர்பேரில் இரங்குகிறவனுக்காக அதைச் சேகரிக்கிறான்.

28:8 He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.

28:9 வேதத்தைக் கேளாதபடி தன் செவியை விலக்குகிறவனுடைய ஜெபமும் அருவருப்பானது.

28:9 He that turneth away his ear from hearing the law, even his prayer shall beabomination.

28:10 உத்தமர்களை மோசப்படுத்தி, பொல்லாத வழியிலே நடத்துகிறவன் தான் வெட்டின குழியில் தானே விழுவான்; உத்தமர்களோ நன்மையைச் சுதந்தரிப்பார்கள்.

28:10 Whoso causeth the righteous to go astray in an evil way, he shall fall himself into his own pit: but the upright shall have good things in possession.

28:11 ஐசுவரியவான் தன் பார்வைக்கு ஞானவான்; புத்தியுள்ள தரித்திரனோ அவனைப் பரிசோதிக்கிறான்.

28:11 The rich man is wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out.

28:12 நீதிமான்கள் களிகூரும்போது மகா கொண்டாட்டம் உண்டாகும்; துன்மார்க்கர் எழும்பும்போதோ மனுஷர் மறைந்து கொள்ளுகிறார்கள்.

28:12 When righteous men do rejoice, there is great glory: but when the wicked rise, a man is hidden.

28:13 தன் பாவங்களை மறைக்கிறவன் வாழ்வடையமாட்டான்; அவைகளை அறிக்கை செய்து விட்டுவிடுகிறவனோ இரக்கம் பெறுவான்.

28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

28:14 எப்பொழுதும் பயந்திருக்கிறவன் பாக்கியவான்; தன் இருதயத்தைக் கடினப்படுத்துகிறவனோ தீங்கில் விழுவான்.

28:14 Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

28:15 ஏழை ஜனங்களை ஆளும் துஷ்ட அதிகாரி கெர்ச்சிக்கும் சிங்கத்துக்கும் அலைந்து திரிகிற கரடிக்கும் ஒப்பாயிருக்கிறான்.

28:15 As a roaring lion, and a ranging bear; so is a wicked ruler over the poor people.

28:16 பிரபு புத்தியீனனாயிருந்தால் அவன் செய்யும் இடுக்கண் மிகுதி; பொருளாசையை வெறுக்கிறவன் தீர்க்காயுசைப் பெறுவான்.

28:16 The prince that wanteth understanding is also a great oppressor: but he that hateth covetousness shall prolong his days.

28:17 இரத்தப்பழிக்காக ஒடுக்கப்பட்டவன் குழியில் ஒளிக்க ஓடிவந்தால், அவனை ஆதரிக்கவேண்டாம்.

28:17 A man that doeth violence to the blood of any person shall flee to the pit; let no man stay him.

28:18 உத்தமனாய் நடக்கிறவன் இரட்சிக்கப்படுவான்; மாறுபாடான இருவழியில் நடக்கிறவனோ அவற்றில் ஒன்றிலே விழுவான்.

28:18 Whoso walketh uprightly shall be saved: but he that is perverse in his ways shall fall at once.

28:19 தன் நிலத்தைப் பயிரிடுகிறவன் ஆகாரத்தால் திருப்தியாவான்; வீணரைப் பின்பற்றுகிறவனோ வறுமையால் நிறைந்திருப்பான்.

28:19 He that tilleth his land shall have plenty of bread: but he that followeth after vain persons shall have poverty enough.

28:20 உண்மையுள்ள மனுஷன் பரிபூரண ஆசீர்வாதங்களைப் பெறுவான்; ஐசுவரியவானாகிறதற்குத் தீவிரிக்கிறவனோ ஆக்கினைக்குத் தப்பான்.

28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.

28:21 முகதாட்சிணியம் நல்லதல்ல, முகதாட்சிணியமுள்ளவன் ஒரு துண்டு அப்பத்துக்காக அநியாயஞ் செய்வான்.

28:21 To have respect of persons is not good: for for a piece of bread that man will transgress.

28:22 வன்கண்ணன் செல்வனாகிறதற்குப் பதறுகிறான், வறுமை தனக்கு வருமென்று அறியாதிருக்கிறான்.

28:22 He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.

28:23 தன் நாவினால் முகஸ்துதி பேசுகிறவனைப்பார்க்கிலும், கடிந்துகொள்ளுகிறவன் முடிவில் அங்கீகாரம் பெறுவான்.

28:23 He that rebuketh a man afterwards shall find more favour than he that flattereth with the tongue.

28:24 Whoso robbeth his father or his mother, and saith, It is no transgression; the same is the companion of a destroyer.

28:25 He that is of a proud heart stirreth up strife: but he that putteth his trust in the LORD shall be made fat.

Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians which is in God the Father and in the Lord Jesus Christ: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.

For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance; as ye know what manner of men we were among you for your sake.

And ye became followers of us, and of the Lord, having received the word in much affliction, with joy of the Holy Ghost:

7. இவ்விதமாய் மக்கெதோனியாவிலும் அகாயாவிலுமுள்ள விசுவாசிகள் யாவருக்கும் மாதிரிகளானீர்கள்.
So that ye were ensamples to all that believe in Macedonia and Achaia.

8. எப்படியெனில், உங்களிடத்திலிருந்து கர்த்தருடைய வசனம் மக்கெதோனியாவிலும் அகாயாவிலும் தொனித்ததுமல்லாமல், நாங்கள் அதைக்குறித்து ஒன்றும் சொல்லவேண்டியதாயிராதபடிக்கு, தேவனைப்பற்றின உங்கள் விசுவாசம் எங்கும் பிரசித்தமாயிற்று.
For from you sounded out the word of the Lord not only in Macedonia and Achaia, but also in every place your faith to God-ward is spread abroad; so that we need not to speak any thing.

9. ஏனெனில், அவர்கள்தாமே எங்களைக்குறித்து, உங்களிடத்தில் நாங்கள் அடைந்த பிரவேசம் இன்னதென்பதையும், ஜீவனுள்ள மெய்யான தேவனுக்கு ஊழியஞ்செய்வதற்கு, நீங்கள் விக்கிரகங்களை விட்டு தேவனிடத்திற்கு மனந்திரும்பினதையும்,
For they themselves show of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God;

10. அவர் மரித்தோரிலிருந்தெழுப்பினவரும், இனிவரும் கோபாக்கினையினின்று நம்மை நீங்கலாக்கி இரட்சிக்கிறவருமாயிருக்கிற அவருடைய குமாரனாகிய இயேசு பரலோகத்திலிருந்து வருவதை நீங்கள் எதிர்பார்த்துக்கொண்டிருக்கிறதையும், அறிவிக்கிறார்களே.
And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
